The Phenomenon of Cataracts

A cataract is a clouding of the lens. Leading to decreasing vision. Often it develops slowly. Cataracts (poor vision) may also result in an increased risk of falling.

I walked to a waterfall to see if I stood in front of it that it would look like a face, a face crying such excessive tears that I might find it funny, I didn’t. Like the time you told me it’s better to cry in the shower because no one can tell if they are tears or hot water.

The emulsion is an imprint; it saw the waterfall, it saw the journey to it, it developed slowly over time, it was washed by the water there, remaining concealed; a decrease in vision.

Gently, slowly.

There were funny moments, there were strange moments. That crackle in the bush wasn’t a large animal or harm, it was an older woman returning from her routine morning stroll to and from the waterfall.

Cataracts and Waterfalls.
